The most important aspects to look for in power supply units are wattage output, cable type and efficiency rating. You must have sufficient wattage output to power the components in your PC, while the efficiency is marked by a score of 80+ followed by a material, such as titanium or silver.

Cable type is also key to powering your computer properly, as it determines how you integrate the power supply unit into your PC. The choice of cable type can also depend on your experience; a novice PC builder may choose a non-modular or semi-modular cable type, which is a more simple installation. An experienced builder, on the other hand, may opt for a fully modular cable type. This allows them to pick and choose which cable to use for other components.
