Delivering superior performance where you need it most
Why is 12th Gen so exciting?
Intel have finally brought to market their 10nm Processors, providing not only amazing single threaded performance but multi threaded too thanks to the addition of secondary efficiency (e) cores. Working hand in hand with Windows 11 Thread Director to boost this new hybrid architecture bringing about performance boosts of almost 30% in applications when compared to the same hardware in Windows 10.
Overall, the 12th Gen Intel Core CPUs are terrific across the board, providing a large performance boost over the previous 11th Gen CPUs, and in almost every single case, handily out-performing AMD’s Ryzen 5000 series. Intel’s lead begins at the i5 and i7 level, but with the Core i9 12900K, Intel consistently came out on top. Intel’s hybrid architecture is still new and we expect to see further OS optimisations to be made and although this generation is already on top we expect the gap to only widen.
Divide and conquer
Intel’s new performance hybrid architecture integrates two core families into a single CPU, keeping everything in your gaming universe running smoothly.
Performance-cores – P-cores are built for performance across single and lightly-threaded workloads, enhancing activities like gaming and productivity.
Efficient-cores – E-cores are optimized for multi-threaded performance, minimizing interruptions from secondary tasks.
Intel® Thread Director — Prioritizes and manages workloads, sending tasks to the best core for the job.1

Choosing the Right CPU for you
i3 – Make a splash with performance that puts gaming first
15 – mid range king – the 12th Gen CPUs are fast enough that even the Intel Core i5 12600K 6+4 Core processor, just under 40% faster in Premiere Pro compared to the AMD Ryzen 5600X and was able to effectively score on par with the significantly more expensive AMD Ryzen 5950X 16 Core. And from there, the Core i7 12700K and Core i9 12900K only give you better and better performance. Over a 7 game average we saw a 20FPS increase over the AMD 5800X and 25FPS over the i9 11900K.
i7 – Prince of performance – the Core i7 12700K also does extremely well, managing to score above every AMD Ryzen CPU we tested. It is a large 26% faster than the comparable, but slightly more expensive, Ryzen 5800X, and even manages to sneak by the Ryzen 5950X by about 6%.
i9 – Intel regaining the gaming and productivity crown
Unbeaten in every test we ran, Intel have truly reclaimed their crown with this CPU, we recommend this for the ultimate powerhouse in both gaming and productivity.
